Grilled Cheese is good year round, not just in the colder months when we crave warm comfort foods. As evidenced by the fact that April is Grilled Cheese Month.
I am going to make it a goal to have 4 grilled cheese sandwiches this month, one per week. My first one came from The Melt at Sunset & Vine in Hollywood, a spacious orange and white themed casual eatery. Due to a mix-up during ordering, I actually got two sandwiches for a the price of one: a traditional grilled cheese and one with bacon. Both were good. Served with a cup of tomato bisque soup and a pickle spear, it was a fast, filling, inexpensive lunch.
Where else am I going to visit? Clementine in Century City is offering more than a dozen varieties of grilled cheese sandwiches. Our good friends at Grub have an After School Special combo of grilled cheese + their creamy, dreamy tomato bisque soup. There’s also the Foundry on Melrose which offers a Grilled Cheese with Short Rib sandwich. I may even get ambitious and track down The Grilled Cheese Truck!
How will you celebrate Grilled Cheese Month?
