I chose the Hot Turkey Sandwich, which is highlighted on the menu as the late Huell Howser’s Favorite. My server told me the kitchen roasts 3-4 fresh turkeys every day, and that number goes up to 20+ turkeys per day during the holiday season! I paid an extra 50 cents for all-white meat, and received a generous turkey sandwich on soft white bread, smothered in their homemade gravy with herb stuffing and mashed potatoes. There was also a small, delicious cup of homemade cranberry sauce on the side. I had hoped to have enough room left over for a piece of apple pie, but I just couldn’t do it. That was one amazingly delicious turkey dinner, and thus I am declaring it my best bite of the week.
I love the Thanksgiving holiday and all the food that comes with it. Every time I get a chance to enjoy turkey and mashed potatoes I take it, even during the warmer months. Last week I was invited to a screening of a popular TV show at Warner Bros. Studios and I did a little research to find an interesting restaurant in the Burbank area. I chose Tallyrand Restaurant on Olive Avenue, about a mile down the street from Warner Bros. Studios. This family-owned operation has been in business since 1959, and the restaurant’s name was inspired by a soup recipe the owners found in a posh hotel cookbook.
