Nowhere in Los Angeles exudes the elegance, opulence, glamour and style of Hollywood’s golden age quite as well as iconic mansion The Cedars.
A filming location for movie classic Sunset Boulevard, it was once home to the stylish silent screen star who inspired that film, Norma Talmadge. Other residents over the years have included Howard Hughes, Bela Lugosi, Jimi Hendrix and Johnny Depp while everyone from Errol Flynn to Charlie Chaplin and Marilyn Monroe has partied there.
Just a few nights ago, I continued that partying tradition, having a star studded birthday bash at The Cedars, generously thrown in my honor by the home’s current owner, fabulous fashion designer Sue Wong.
The Cedars, which sits atop a hill in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles, is just a bit too far above town to feature on my Movie Locations Tour of LA but plenty of other iconic homes do including The Nightmare on Elm Street house, the Pretty Woman apartment building and another location from Sunset Boulevard, the home of William Holden’s character in that film. So come and join us any Saturday for a special journey through Hollywood history. Every tour is a party.
