Do you like donuts? I sure do. A new-ish place on West 3rd Street near The Original Farmer’s Market captured my attention a few months back, and I decided to sample and serve their goodies on our recent Chocolate Indulgence tours. Fonuts (or faux-donuts) are basically baked, not fried. They look very similar to donuts, but I would say are more like cake in texture and taste. Mmm, what’s not to like about that?
Fonuts offers more than 15 flavors (traditional + unique) with many of them gluten-free and/or vegan. How does banana chocolate, maple bacon, or salted caramel sound? There are also some holiday flavors like gingerbread and pumpkin. For weekend mornings or any morning, try a fresh baked Fonut next time you’re in the ‘hood.
