Earlier this week I had occasion to spend a day at Disneyland and California Adventure with some very special friends visiting from Northern California. They were in Anaheim for a school band concert. Breakfast was eaten before we got to the park, lunch was a fun picnic packed by my BFF Sarah and enjoyed in Tomorrowland, and dinner was at an Italian eatery on Downtown Disney after a very long and fun day! But it was the mid-day snack enjoyed in Adventureland, just outside the Enchanted Tiki Room that I want to tell you about. Do you know what I’m referring to? The Tiki Juice Bar of course!

Sponsored by Dole, there are only four items for purchase: pineapple juice, pineapple spears, a pineapple soft serve (aka the Dole Whip) and a Dole Whip Float, which combines pineapple juice and the pineapple soft serve (pictured here). My friends had never tried, let alone heard of, this sweet treat so I had to show them the light! Special thanks to my friend Lil P in Toronto, who introduced ME to this magical stuff years ago. I waited in line well over 30 minutes while the boys ran around Tarzan’s Treehouse, but I was as excited as if it were my first time, and I knew the wait was worth every minute. What makes this extra special is that outside of the Dole Pineapple Plantation in Hawaii, you can only get this frozen treat at Disney theme parks and a few other licensed businesses. I know of only other places, in Palm Springs and West Hollywood. I am declaring my Dole Whip Float as my best bite of the week!
