Susan Feniger’s STREET on Highland near Melrose is one of our original restaurant partners. For the past 3 years we have enjoyed bringing our Hollywood Sites & Bites Tour guests to that very orange building for international cuisine. We literally sampled food from around the world under the same roof, which was Susan’s intent. On Saturday mornings we got “brunchy” food with a twist, as only Susan and Kajsa (pronounced Sasha) can do. They recently announced that STREET is closing for the month of October for a refresh. It’s all under wraps, but we’re looking forward to the big reveal.
To celebrate the food we’ve come to love, Matt and I recently dined from their Remember September: Flashback Menu. Even though we have several favorite dishes, we decided to try items new to us. Along with Elderberry Sangria, we tried their version of Chicken Croquettes & Waffles, Lamb Meatballs, Kale & Brussels Sprouts and at the suggestion of two of our servers, the Barbeque Jackfruit Bao. Wow! While this is a fruit, just as they described, it looked and tasted savory like pulled pork. The kitchen sent out a lovely dessert, and we said our goodbyes. We have no idea what changes are in store at STREET but we are excited to be along for the ride!
