If you’re looking for good Mexican food and margaritas in Hollywood, look no further than El Compadre. This hot spot is located on the Rock Block section of Sunset Boulevard, between Fairfax and La Brea, across from The Guitar Center. This family-owned business is the self-professed “Home of the Flaming Margarita” and I have to say it was one of the best margaritas I’ve found in Los Angeles. My MIL (Mother in Law) got hers on the rocks with salt. I got a more girly and refreshing peach-mango blended, no salt. They both arrived in flames and after taking our first sips, we were both very happy!
After a long day of back-to-back tours, Matt and I inhaled our basket of chips and salsa. Moving on to dinner, among four of us, we had a wide assortment of entrees from Albondigas soup to crunchy tacos to Arroz con Pollo to Grilled Steak. Everything was plentiful and tasty. The service was efficient and the ambiance and décor were welcoming and festive. It was a perfect way to finish our day, and now I can proclaim I’ve had the best margarita in Hollywood, and a flaming margarita at that!
