Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss! The beloved children’s author of 46 books would be 108 years old today, March 2nd. Because many of his stories have also been turned into TV specials, Theodor Seuss Geisel has his own shiny star on the walk of fame in the television category. One of his stories hits the big screen today: The Lorax. Admittedly this was not one of my go-to Seuss books, though I appreciate the save the trees message. I also love that the movie features beloved celebrity voices like Betty White and Danny DeVito.
Speaking of Dr. Seuss books, which were your favorites? I especially loved Green Eggs and Ham and Go Dog Go. I totally wanted to party on the huge tree top with all those cool dogs! When I taught Kindergarten way back in 1989, we made green eggs & ham every March. The kids loved it! Happily, I have found a grown-up and more tasty version (with pesto & prosciutto) right here at Huckleberry in Santa Monica. I think I’ll salute Dr. Seuss this year with a green-tinted breakfast and a movie!
