Thursday March 13 marks the start of PaleyFest 2014, the 31st annual celebration of TV’s most popular programs, featuring their stars and creators. Television fans come from around the world to attend evening screenings and panels over the course of two weeks. Previously held in the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, this year marks the debut of PaleyFest at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood and Highland. This means there are almost twice as many seats available! As always, there are some great shows to choose from including Pretty Little Liars, How I Met Your Mother, VEEP, and Mad Men to name just a few. Also on the roster is the much-anticipated cast reunion of the ABC drama Lost. The full roster can be found here: http://media.paleycenter.org/paleyfest-2014-lineup/
Created by the Paley Center for Media, this fun festival offers TV fans a chance to hear inside scoop from the show’s creators, see new shows or returning favorites and enjoy special appearances of beloved stars. Last year I was lucky enough to score tickets for the screening of The Big Bang Theory. All the main characters were present for the Q + A and it was interesting to see them interact; it was evident they all really like each other. First we were treated to a sneak-preview of an upcoming episode, then a moderator introduced each actor and took them through a series of questions that had come in from a variety of sources. There was even time for a few audience questions. Someone asked for a rendition of Howard’s mother’s voice and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) volunteered, and then a visitor from Brazil asked which was Howard’s favorite belt buckle. Bazinga!
