We go there for a taste of mouth-watering pastrami sandwiches, but sometimes we get more than we asked for. Greenblatt’s Deli is one of the best places for star-sighting on our tour. This historic deli and wine boutique on Sunset Blvd. (next to the Laugh Factory) has been in business since 1926 and has served such great names as Marilyn Monroe & Joe DiMaggio, Bing Crosby, Errol Flynn, Janis Joplin and Marlon Brando to name just a few. F. Scott Fitzgerald made his last purchase at Greenblatt’s…a Hershey’s chocolate bar!
Our guests have been thrilled to see Laurence Fishburne walking out the door with brown take-out sacks. Richard Chamberlain sat next to us one afternoon. We whispered in hushed tones the day Topher Grace was in the booth behind us. Ed Lauter who just appeared in The Artist posed for pictures, as did Billy Drago who guest Lynn loved as Barbas in Charmed. One day the staff told us Sandra Bullock had just been in the previous day. Then there was the day Matt found out his favorite bottle of wine (priced at $2,000) had been purchased by Chevy Chase!
