The monthly meeting of The Pancake Club took us to Taste on Melrose, just east of La Cienega in case you are wondering. Seven of my Junior League buddies gathered around a cozy table to enjoy brunch and each other’s company. And to my horror, there wasn’t a pancake on the menu! Rebecca had the closest thing to pancakes, and she was kind enough to share a bite of her French toast with me.
But I was intrigued by the sound of the Cobb Frittata, pictured here, which was just as tasty as it looks, probably even better depending on what you think of my photo. I was expecting something round and flat, but this frittata was a nice little mound of perfectly-shredded chicken, avocado, bacon, and gorgonzola cheese. The roasted potatoes propped up the little cube of ketchup. In the end, I was smitten with my savory Sunday morning Taste on Melrose. Pancakes, schmancakes, I’ll get ‘em at the next meeting!
