DineLA Restaurant Week only comes around twice a year. We headed not far from home to Akasha in Culver City, which we’ve heard great things about. Among the various dishes we sampled, we tasted the most amazing Butternut Squash Gratin. It was like potatoes au gratin but the butternut squash chunks were blended together with an amazing goat cheese. Sprinkled with slivered almonds, it was deelish. Comfort food at its best on a rainy Friday night! I had to remember to snap a photo before it was entirely gone, and sadly this photo does not do the dish its proper justice.
I also have to give a shout out to the beet salad, lamb sliders and the fig & prosciutto flatbread. It was an all-around delightful meal, but that gratin was definitely my best bite of the week!
