Dining in LA~My Best Bite of the Week: Green Eggs at Cecconi’s
Every Tuesday morning a crowd gathers for breakfast at Cecconi’s restaurant in West Hollywood. This group happens to be with a warm and welcoming group of expats, known as Brits in LA. You don’t have to be British to be part of this group, you just have to like Brits. Which sums me up perfectly. Our new partner and guide of the Celebrity Insider Movie Locations Tour, Sandro Monetti, told me all about this special Tuesday morning breakfast but I was waiting for just the right time to attend. Complimentary valet parking and $15 cash at the door got me a seat on the left side of the restaurant, where I had my choice of anything on the menu. Plus unlimited coffee! A traditional British breakfast with sausages and beans costs just a few dollars more.
I enjoyed a most delicious breakfast of Green Eggs, which consisted of two poached eggs atop thinly sliced toast with sautéed spinach, generous avocado pieces and a tasty and warm pesto sauce. There were a few hash brown tater tots thrown in for good measure! My table mates were none other than members of the Taurus Squadron Cricket Team. They were in Los Angeles doing some charity work and playing a bit of cricket while on holiday from their roles serving in various branches of the British Armed Forces. Many of them are University students as well. I couldn’t ask for better breakfast company! For this reason, the Green Eggs at my first Brits in LA Breakfast were my best bite of the week!
