KTLA takes a TOURific Escape in Hollywood
Recently KTLA 5 reporter Lu Parker hopped onboard the TOURific Escapes van to check out our newest Celebrity Insider Movie Locations Tour led by British entertainment journalist Sandro Monetti. Lu was amazed to see that some of the buildings she drives by every day were the film settings for both historic and recent movies. On Sunset Boulevard, almost across the street from each other, are two great movie locations. The Cat & Fiddle property was the setting for parts of the 1942 romantic drama Casablanca. Not too far away you’ll see a building shaped like a tugboat with a revolving globe on top, the Crossroads of the World, which was background for a scene in Argo, Best Picture winner at the 2013 Academy Awards.
The tour also took Lu by a popular nightclub called Boardner’s, perhaps Hollywood’s best kept secret. If you saw Ed Wood or Gangster Squad, then you saw the interior of this popular neighborhood hang-out which often doubles in movies needing classic bar scenes. Around the corner from Boardner’s there’s an almost forgotten hotel, which is now an apartment complex, highlighted in the finale of (almost) everyone’s favorite Julia Roberts movie Pretty Woman. All this and many other movie locations can be found on this tour, along with a fun dose of Sandro’s celebrity scoop. Check out the KTLA news clip that highlighted Lu’s special afternoon with us!
