Missing Jin Patisserie on Abbot Kinney
One of my favorite places to enjoy afternoon tea in Los Angeles was found behind a bright orange door on Abbot Kinney. Jin Patisserie offered only outdoor seating in a lovely little garden patio and served the most beautiful and tasty sandwiches, scones and pastries for a nice little price. In business for ten years, owner Kristy Choo closed shop in March because of a steep rent increase. Did you know GQ named Abbot Kinney “the coolest block in America”?
Not only was Jin Patisserie a great place for tea, but I also discovered they had some of the best French macarons in LA! They make a mint-chocolate flavor that quickly became a favorite item on our Chocolate Indulgence Tour. When I stopped by to pick them up, I would often chat with Annabelle, the pastry chef, and find out her secrets to making such perfect little macarons.
While I will miss the adorable little outdoor café, I take heart in knowing that I can still order the mint-chocolate macarons for our tours. You too can visit Jin Patisserie’s new kitchen at 5741 Buckingham Parkway in Culver City. I will be stopping by soon to get my macaron fix and fill my order!
