Private Tours in Los Angeles
Private tours are a really smart way to explore Los Angeles. Hiring a private tour guide like me gives you a front row view into the areas you are most interested in seeing, and not just a cookie-cutter tour of the highlights and basic landmarks. There are many reasons to book a private tour with a private tour guide, not least of which is so you as the visitor don’t have to deal with the heavy LA area traffic and navigating the busy streets and freeways. Here at TOURific Escapes, the tour guide (me) is a graduate of the International Tour Management Institute, known as ITMI and has experience in leading many different types of tours. TOURific Escapes is also certified and licensed to transport passengers. Our 2015 Toyota Sienna seats 7 guests comfortably and has a strong air-conditioning system and windows that roll down for photography purposes. Trish your Tour Guide also serves as the Driver for your Private Tour.
Your professional tour guide (again in this case me) spends hours on research projects to learn about all the best highlights that Los Angeles has to offer. You will be pleased to know that our company is top-rated on the world’s largest travel website Trip Advisor and after eight years in business, we now have 800 customer reviews to support our tours. In 2010, we launched our original tour, Hollywood Sites and Bites, which is available 7 days a week. Since then we have added two specialty tours, a Chocolate Indulgence Tour and a Movie Locations Tour, which are both offered on select days. Since then, I have realized that many families would like more of an overview of our city without taking one of our pre-planned tours and so our private tour calendar was introduced.
I moved to Los Angeles in 2001 and since then have gotten to know Los Angeles very well through my volunteer and social activities, employment, dining out, and now doing research as a tour guide. I have a good sense of what visitors want to see, but I will always ask for their input. Every tour is customized to exactly what each family wants to see. And if I don’t know what they want to see, I will do the research to get them there. For our private tour packages we offer tours in 4, 6 or 8 hour increments but we know you may want something in between. Our tour times are flexible based on your travel plans, but we do suggest a morning start time if possible to get a jump start on the crowds and the traffic.
Our minimum tour time is four hours, and we can pack in a lot of sightseeing in four hours. If you have more time and you want to see more, six hours may be best for you. What’s great about hiring me as your private tour guide is that you tell me what you want to see. You can also tell me how much walking you want to do versus driving, and you can let me know if taking pictures is important to you, which means I will allow as many stops as you like for your photo opportunities. Your private tour includes pick up and drop off at your hotel or another location of your choosing, as long as it is centrally located in Los Angeles. Chilled bottled water is always provided onboard. And I pick up any parking fees incurred during the tour.
If you have children or teenagers in your group, I will make sure to customize the tour and the commentary to include their tastes and interests. If you have people in your party who enjoy posting their vacation pictures on social media, I have many places to capture LA’s varied street art (murals) and architectural gems. While lunch is not included in the price of private tours, I will suggest fun and appropriate lunch places based on how much time and money you want to spend. The Original Farmer’s Market is a local landmark and foodie favorite. But I’ve also had guests tell me they want the experience of waiting in line at Pink’s Hot Dogs on La Brea Boulevard or that they want to enjoy fresh seafood on the Santa Monica Pier.
I enjoy being a private tour guide because it allows me to showcase this great city of Los Angeles and how varied it is from the hills to the beaches and everywhere in between. I invite you to consider me as your private tour guide on your next visit to Los Angeles and I will happily customize a special tour for your family or group.
