Trish & Charlie have a date at the Hollywood Roosevelt

Yep that’s me and Charlie posing in the Blossom Room of the beautiful Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. I was there attending the Charlie Awards, which for the past 26 years have been recognizing and honoring the arts in Hollywood. My friend Nancy and I were there, not only because we are members of the Hollywood Arts Council, but as tour guides we try to seek out special and historic experiences. The Blossom Room was the site of the very first Academy Awards in May 1927, and is currently the site of many celebrity and red-carpet events.
The Charlies honored a variety of deserving entertainers, and the presenters delivered equal star appeal. In attendance were Hector Elizondo (one of my favs, from his stint as front desk manager in Pretty Woman), Ted Danson, Lee Meriwether (you may remember her as Catwoman, and also sidekick of Barnaby Jones in the 70’s) and James Burrows who was responsible for such iconic TV shows as Cheers, Friends, Taxi and many others. The days’ proceeds went to support Project S.O.A.R. ensuring that over 15,000 students in Hollywood’s elementary schools have access to the arts.
